{remember} a trip to the botanical gardens--walking "secret" paths, hearing frogs, seeing a mother turkey with her babies, and taking lots of pictures. Logan said he wanted to come back everyday.
Ok, so the craziness of the close of the school year is finally over, sports seasons have ended, and we already have our "big" vacation over and done with. I finally feel freed to get down to some serious scrapbooking (well, I don't know how serious but I'm hoping to complete a couple of pages before month end). So who's with me? Need a bit of a jump start? Use one of these sketches as your inspiration and get scrapping.
{remember} a terrible back ache and a conversation with Maddox:
M: are you stretching, Mommy? me: yes, I'm stretching M: 'cause your back hurts? me: yes, my back hurts very much M: ok, then I'll rub it. {rubs my back} is it all better now? me: not really M: then I'll rub it with this {his train}. there is that all better? me: yes, thank you, love {kiss}
{remember} being able to yell out "Happy Birthday" as Logan walked by in the baseball parade (and wishing I had the foresight to have made a poster to hold up for him).
{remember} a bit of Christmas in June--lots of rides on the Reindeer Coaster and Humbug, a visit with Santa (Maddox wouldn't even get in the same room with him, but L & C didn't want to get off his chair), and more ice cream and fried dough!
{remember} an awesome fun time riding rides, laughing with the boys, walking 4 miles through the park, gorging on popcorn, icecream and fried dough, and loving every minute of it!
{remember} getting in the jam packed car to leave for StoryLand and Perry asking for the directions--whoops, did we forget that one little minor detail?! At least we didn't leave a kid behind.
Ahh, I can finally take a much needed breath--school is over, teacher scrapbooks are completed and given, school staff gifts have been made and given, Logan's birthday invitations are made and in the mail, the house is clean, the baseball banner is underway, and we are packed and headed to StoryLand for a fun family vacation to kick of the summer break--a big sigh of relief.
{remember} Logan's last day of first grade, and that feeling of sheer joy to have an entire summer in front of you. Cleaning the entire house and packing in preparation for Storyland.
{remember} the boys and I serving Perry breakfast in bed for Father's Day: Thomas' whole grain light english muffin with peanut butter, v-8 juice, water, fish oil, multi vitamin, Claritin, vitamin C (who actually eats like this??). I'd post a picture, but he threatened me with my life.
I made four of these albums for the boys' teachers (with the gracious help of three of the moms from the classes--who totally saved my butt!). Simple design, but when you're doing 68 two page layouts you can't get too fancy.
{remember} Logan going with his Grandma to shop for his birthday and coming home with $44 worth of Pokemon and YugiOh cards--will this obsession ever end?
{remember} how the craziness of this time of year rivals that of the holidays--field days, end of school year parties, sports wrapping up, teacher and school staff gifts to make and buy, open houses, etc. Next year I need to get started in April!
{remember} setting up the pool for the summer (including digging out a wheelbarrow-full of dirt in the blazing 100 degree heat in an attempt to level the ground so the darn thing doesn't tip over and leak out again ruining all our summer fun--yes, I was a bit disgruntled) so the boys can have tons of fun!
Super simple gift card holder. Love SU!'s adorable "All in the Family" people. Didn't have a soccer ball stamp so improvised with stickers from the boys' stash. Cut 8 1/2 x 11 long way in half (4 1/4 x 11). Score at 1 1/2" to create a pocket for gift card and use super sticky tape to seal sides. Then score a bit from gift card top, and again to wrap around. Trim off excess. I honestly didn't measure so I apologize for not being more precise than this in my directions.
{remember} taking C & M to Camden's "favorite place to go in a car with his family"--so fun to browse without rushing and no one begging and crying to buy everything in sight. And like the crazy person I am, I brought along my camera to snap pics. It was for his school project, honest.
I should carry my camera around with me more often.
This box is made from one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock, simply scored and folded, no cuts, no adhesive. Directions here. Some of the folds are a bit tricky and took me two tries to get right, but other than that this box is a cinch--thank goodness 'cause I'm making them for the prinicpals, nurses, secretaries, assistants, and specialists at the boys' schools. They'll be filled with Lindt truffles. How many more days until school's out???
Yet again I am saved by the creativity of someone else. For this month's Stamp Club project, I found (at 10:30 the night before) the cutest, most clever{est} card I have ever seen. So, of course, I just had to steal it for my Stamp Club.
